一段很久以前找到的文字

這是我一直很喜歡的一個從Band of Brothers中摘錄的小故事,很多時候,我覺得這個可能
代表的是我們所處的真實世界。

"Where are you going, private?"

"Check out the noise, sir."

"I just cane from there. Everything is under control."

"Yes sir."

"Get some nervous privates in you company."

"We do, sir; Yeah, We do, I can vouch for that."

"They just don't see how simple it is."

"How simple what is, sir?"

"Just do what you have to do."

"Like you did on D-day, sir?"

"Lieutenant. Sir, when I landed on D-day. I found myself in a diych all by meself.
I fell asleep. I think it was those ail-sickness pills they gave us.
When I woke up, I din't really try to find my unit to fight.
I just kind of stayed put."

"What's your name, trooper?"

"Blithe, Albert Blithe."

"You know what you hid in that ditch, Blithe?"

"I was scared."

"We are all scared. You hid in that ditch because you think there is still hope.
But Blithe, the only hope you have is to accept the fact that you are already dead .
And the sooner you accept that, the soon you will function as a solider's supposed to function."

"Carentan, Band of Brothers"

這段文字也很不錯。

"Farthest from your mind is the thought of falling back, in fact, it isn't there at all.

And so you dig your hole carefully and deep, and wait"

Currahee Scraphook of the 506 PIR
(這段文字出現在突出部之役時)
